Deathly water and blue smoke.
I sit and sigh,
Inside my thoughtful orb.
I wait in vain.
My words small and humble.
The forgotten flaws
and hidden truths,(brazen lies).
Seeing eyes and fumbling fingers.
I lay and sleep
For as long as infinity lives.

Red by Ted Hughes
Red was your colour.
If not red, then white. But red
was what you wrapped around you.
Blood red.Was it blood?
Was it red-ochre, for warming the dead?
Haematite to make immortal
the precious heirloom bones, the family bones.
If not red, then white. But red
was what you wrapped around you.
Blood red.Was it blood?
Was it red-ochre, for warming the dead?
Haematite to make immortal
the precious heirloom bones, the family bones.
The long way homeward
I took the long way home today. All along the beautiful Wellington water front.I watched as the tide came and went , and threw stones like thoughts, hitting the choppy water, bouncing on the surface then sinking down ,down, down.I am in love with this city and will be sad to go.

My bones belong to the fishes,my hair to the birds and my flesh to the lions
Blue rain from a clear sky
our world a cube of sunlight
But to the south
The violet admonition
of thunder
our world a cube of sunlight
But to the south
The violet admonition
of thunder
